It was a lovely day, so we decided to go for a drive and enjoy the sunshine this early winter day. The drive to our accommodations at Kiahuna Plantation was enjoyable. The next morning we had breakfast before heading out for a scenic drive. The manager at Kiahuna Plantation recommended a cruise up to the top Wiamea Canyon. Our first stop along the way was the Kauai Cookie Company. After a sufficient snack we continued our trip westward.

We drove along the coast for about 30 minutes before arriving at our turn-off to the Waimea Canyon. The drive ascended immediately and continued climbing up the ridge. We found a pull-out after a few miles so we could take a short break. After a few photos, we were on our way. Within a half-hour we found ourselves standing on top of what appears to be a relative of the Grand Canyon in Arizona. We spent an hour at the summit before winding our way back down.
